Bobby and I were members together at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New City.  Can't say we were really good friends through school but, as it turned out, both of us felt called to the Holy Ministry of Word and Sacrament and, so, entered seminary following college - Bobby at the Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia, myself at the Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg.  Bobby was ordained in 1981 and I followed the next year in 1982.  He was first called to pastor a small church in Pennsylvania while I was an assistant pastor at a large church on Long Island.  Then we switched places - he moved to Long Island to serve as assistant pastor at a large church while i headed to Pennsylvania to pastor a small church.

Bobby was a good man - devoted to his family, to the Church, and to his Lord Jesus Christ.  God blessed him with an effective ministry that ended far too soon.  He is missed by many.

Thanks be to God that death does not and will not have the last word for those whose life is in Christ Jesus our crucified and risen Lord.
